Today I mostly feel like the one on the right.

I find some people such an enigma. I mean, we start out the same way as our peers, excluding what might be going on at home in our upbringing, but in school and the playground we were equal. The future was a clean slate. Our humours were similar, our experiences the same. As we progressed through school we were given the same information as our friends in regards to college choices and career paths. It all seemed so far away, but we were in it together. Weren't we?

Then some of these "friends" seemed to have taken in good advice and chose a solid degree course or work experience. Something that gave them a skill or trade, a direct route to take and a possibility of making a reasonable living. They seem to know who they were. At what point did myself and the others (you know who you are) veer so erratically in the opposite direction? Our choices lead to a path that is obscured and branching in wildly different directions. Each of which are uncertain and showing no promise of stability. Too depressing for a Thursday perhaps?

There is some consolation though, we could just be one of them 'late bloomers' yeah? Slowly taking it all in, gathering our experiences and y'know, really just taking our time before we pounce with a clearly thought out plan of attack. That attack may be subtle however, like a lovely abstract painting, an installation made from melted scart leads or bowl fashioned from a recycled hub cap but its still an attack god dammit!
